On certain components, it is not possible to replace the bushings alone. On a control arm, for example, it is virtually impossible to remove the bushings. Consequently, when the bushings wear out on a control arm, it is simply time to replace the control arm. Certain other parts can also be time-intensive when it comes to isolating the bushings.

Aside from shocks/struts/springs, look at replacing all of the bushings with Powerflex urethane (lower control arm bushings, rear trailing arm bushings, and rear subframe bushings). Replace the entire front control arm on each side with Meyles so that you get nice new ball joints as well as arms. Tie rods would also be a good idea to replace.

I spent $60 to have a shop press out the old inner/upper ones and press new ones in. Best $60 I ever spent. I rented a bushing puller kit from advanced auto. It helped on the others but not a lot.

I decided to get a new bushing for the top which is the hardest to get at and fill it. The other 2-bushings I just filled them solid and work great.

Jan 12, 2016I do expect the front end to settle a little after driving it for a while. My initial impression of these mounts is very positive. I don't notice as drastic of a change as I did when changing control arm bushings to solid TT bushings or changing the rear axle beam bushings to Cupra R bushings but it does feel a bit better.
